New Subjangle release: The Artisans to release new album “Saturday Comes Around” (with self titled debut album as bonus disc) - out April 30th!
The Artisans are delighted to release their second album ‘Saturday Comes Around' on the Subjangle label.
It's special news for fans who missed out on their 'charming and quirky shimmering guitar pop' debut on CD; this limited edition CD release also includes the debut as a bonus disc.
The new album captures both the band's development over the past five years and the world’s madness. The sound is fuller, augmented with further brass and keyboards, and the band’s reference to the climate and nature emergencies even led Chris Packham to praise the album track 'Distant Call' on social media.
The ten jangling tracks also include tales of social media obsessives, gypsies, and a dedication to those who died in the 2016 Ghost Ship fire in California. It’s a different lyrical direction from their debut album that led them to throw a punch in the ring (literally) with an unlikely hero: a former world boxing champion.
So, here is the new album that the band began in the North East of England, before the world changed and the singer set off to find the land of milk and honey, ending up as an organic cheesemaker on a remote farm in Scotland.
This release is the one that reunites The Artisans to share with the world a new tasty treat - a big dose of new indie pop goodness, and a CD that takes you through their past to present. They hope you enjoy it. (The Artisans)
