‘THIS IS DOOM TRAP’ due out on Friday 26th September via Silent Cult

Following the announcement of her forthcoming UK album release tour, London based alternative artist and doom trap pioneer Mimi Barks has today released her brand-new single ‘HOUSE FULL OF FAKES’. Stream the new single right HERE.

‘HOUSE FULL OF FAKES’ is the fourth single taken for Mimi Barks’ debut album ‘THIS IS DOOM TRAP’ (out on Friday 26th September 2024 via Silent Cult), following her recent singles MONTANA’, featuring Yeti Bones of the American rap-punk duo Ho99o9, ‘BANSHEE’ and the album announcement single ‘FSU’ (short for Fuck Shit Up). ‘THIS IS DOOM TRAP’ is now available to pre-order alongside exclusive album merchandise right HERE.

Commenting on the new single Mimi Barks shares: “The present moment exudes a sense of post-apocalyptic insanity, both internally and externally— "Doom Eternal." This destructiveness infiltrates not only history but also homes and streets, mirrored in the way we communicate with one another. Collective thoughts, beliefs, and energies are tainted with despair and aggression.”

She continues to mention: ”A deep longing to live in the Now, striving to avoid being consumed by the chaos—a struggle intensified when the mind still controls you. Proximity to self-destruction and toxicity makes the pursuit of consciousness a constant battle.”

Hot of the heels of raging sets at both Copenhell and Mystic Festival as well as tour dates with Yonaka, Mimi Barks is set to embark on her UK album release tour this October. The tour will kick off on Tuesday 8th October 2024 in Manchester before stopping off in Bristol, London, Birmingham, Glasgow and finishing in Nottingham on Sunday 13th October. Biography:

The Doom Trap Icon has enjoyed a successful rise over the last few years while sharing her relentless stage presence across the UK and Europe, appearing at festivals like Download, 2000 Trees, Graspop and Full Force as well as joining tours with rock giants Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Combichrist and Saint Agnes. She graced the front cover of Kerrang! Magazine shortly after being awarded with ‘The Disrupter’ award at the official Kerrang! Awards 2022 and had a world premiere from Daniel P. Carter on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show with her single ‘ASHES’ which appeared on the DEADGIRL Mixtape.

With her dark vision translating across multiple platforms, she had huge support from the likes of Jack Saunders, Nels Hylton, Alyx Holcombe and Jess Iszatt at BBC Radio 1, Alex Baker and Johnny Doom of Kerrang Radio while also receiving high praise from the likes of Clash, Metal Hammer, Rock Sound, Revolver Magazine, Gigwise, Nasty Magazine, LOUDER and Knotfest who shared their own outlook on the ‘DEADGIRL’ Mixtape, “DEADGIRL seems to have a personal chronology. The progression of the songs seems to begin with you at your darkest and culminate with you coming into your own – emerging from the trauma.”
