Milan’s Our Beauty In the Fire shares hypnotic new single ‘In Circles’

After being part of many underground and alternative bands for more than 20 years, singer/guitarist Matteo Fabbris started Our Beauty in the Fire in the summer of 2019, out of the need to give form to past and current ideas, perceptions and suggestions. Initially unaware of the outcome and the scope of this intimate journey, Matteo started to draw OBITF's sound and aesthetics moving from dark folk, gothic, singer-songwriter influences, although not limiting to them. As time passed, this solo project grew up and evolved, turning into a gentle obsession. Naive yet disimpassioned and sophisticated, the speakers and voices behind Our Beauty in the Fire aim to lead the listener through fear, melancholy, sheer joy, anxiety and sweet surrender.

‘In Circles’ is the second single from Matteo’s solo project, Our Beauty In the Fire, which brings together dark/gothic atmospheres, folk sounds and the attitude and research of singer-songwriters. Musically speaking, he wanted to experiment with contrasts (e.g. between classical instruments and the more modern and 'sci-fi' pad, or again between the quite luscious arrangement and the at-times-hypnotic vocal style).

‘In Circles’ has a wonderfully gentle, reflective tone. The raspy, heartfelt vocals provide a real heart-in-your-throat moment. Its darkened, gothic themes provide vast imagery of melancholic, bleak bewilderment. While the folk stance supplies a strangely comforting feel. It’s a beautiful nightmare-ish dreamscape of soft, thoughtful sounds that majestically combine classical elements with something more modern to offer an immersive, hypnotic soundscape of catharsis.
