Master of Mischief Share Debut EP ‘Tales of the Twisted Prince’

“Electronic music for emo edgelords”

Master of Mischief is a brand new mysterious electronic music project ran by an unknown masked individual hailing from “somewhere in the UK”.  The project launched with debut ‘Recréez Vous’ on Friday 13th September, and the full EP ‘Tales of the Twisted Prince’ is set to drop on Halloween.

Branded as “electronic music for emo edgelords”, the project blends the genres of industrial, electro, synthwave, techno, dubstep and EDM with the melodic elements of emo and alternative music to create a dark, mysterious yet infectious atmosphere with a mix of vocal hooks, rhythmic beats, intense drops and catchy synths.

Talking about his debut single, Master of Mischief said: “‘Recréez Vous’ translates to “recreate yourself” in French. The track is about reaching a crossroads in your life, some kind of decision point, and having faith that if it all goes wrong you can just start again, recreate yourself, so you shouldn’t let that fear and indecision hold you back. It’s also about those moments where you feel like you have an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other; where you have to choose between giving in to your internal darkness or doing what is morally expected of you. It explores that natural inner conflict that exists within us all on some level - the tussle with your shadow self. As such, the lyrics are both dark and uplifting, with themes of both darkness and light.”

Speaking about the project as a whole, he added: “the whole idea of Master of Mischief is to make people think. To make people question the status quo, the humdrum normality and dullness of every day life, and to make them want to rise above society’s constraints, expectations and monotony. It’s music for the outcasts and the weirdos, the ones who don’t fit into a bracket, the ones who don’t think like everyone else and aren’t afraid to say it and speak about it. It’s electronic music for emo edgelords.”

Feedback for ‘Recreez Vous’

“An epic showcase of enigmatic sound design, momentous beats, and distraught vocals making for a moody cyberpunk style ride.”

“…great musical catchy hooks throughout then the vocals come in with that distorted treatment which really blends with the track perfectly. Solid vocal melody. Really unique sound.”
