Manchester's TTSSFU drops Baggage
TTSSFU
shares new single
‘Baggage’
Taken from the upcoming EP - ‘Me, Jed and Andy’
out 23rd February on Fear of Missing Out Records
Newly signed to FOMO Records (Duvet, Umarells), DIY shoegazer TTSSFU shares new single ‘Baggage’, from the forthcoming EP ‘Me Jed and Andy’ - due 23rd February 2024.
An EP inspired by the now-infamous 12-year love affair between avant-garde artist Andy Warhol and interior designer/film director Jed Johnson - as portrayed in 2022 Netflix Docu-series The Andy Warhol Diaries - Baggage struts straight out of the NYC scene that Warhol inspired and delves into the initial feelings of meeting someone, and not wanting to bring along pitfalls from previous relationships. Tasmin explains:
“Baggage is about someone I met recently and I instantly became obsessed with them. The song is theoretical really because it sounds like it’s about a partner and it’s not. It’s more about what I’d do if they were and how I’d forget my past and all the stuff that’s drove me mad just to be normal for them”
While growing in confidence with home-recording following years of trial and error (it’s impressive to learn that the disarming polish of ‘Me, Jed and Andy’ was produced, mixed and mastered, entirely by Stephens), that shy elusiveness, those dreamy, whirling soundscapes and understated lyrics still remain central to TTSSFU’s alluring mystique - a voice as passionate and noble as that of any high-flying New York socialite.
