"They’re cutting holes in the sky; behold the great divide: Arms & Hearts open Sink England, Sink with a beautifully delicate encapsulation of how small you can feel in a world that has stopped making sense.

Originally written as a quiet folk song, the last iteration of this indie punk hit leans much more heavy and uptempo and succinctly defines the overall message of their upcoming sophomore album The Future is Not Bright: defiant optimism in the face of an increasingly bleak cultural landscape."

After realising that The Steve Miller band was already taken, Manchester-based Steven Millar started Arms & Hearts as an acoustic project in 2015. Since then he's released the debut album The Distance Between, and toured the world, playing alongside the likes of Carl Barat, Nervus & Chris Farren as well as playing at major festivals such as Fest (Gainsville, USA) Pouzza (Canada) & Manchester Punk Festival and is now back with the release of the sophomore album The Future is Not Bright to be released October 10th.

Infused with sparkly synths and chorus effect-laden guitars, and taking inspiration from artists like Spanish Love Songs,Turnover & Chris Farren, The Future is Not Bright marks a genre shift for Arms & Hearts whilst maintaining the same defiant wit and grit in their lyricism.

Both personal and inherently political, over 12 tracks, The Future is Not Bright explores everything from the realities of identity, death, love, injustice, struggles with mental health and (metaphorically!) wanting to murder your boss, insisting on optimism in a cultural climate that demands cynicism and misery.
