Manchester Trio Sour Punch Return With Rousing Single 'Take Me Home Taxi'

Hailing from Manchester and harbouring an inordinate amount of buoyant and optimistic energy, alt-rock trio Sour Punch bridges the gap between pop, punk and indie with their deliciously technicolour offerings.

Never a band to rest on their laurels, the three-piece aren’t afraid to experiment and go against the tide. Combining intricate melodies and unruly punk rhythms to create something that feels both unique, addictive, and insanely upbeat.

Indeed, their next single ‘Take Me Home Taxi’ is the perfect embodiment of reckless punk energy and ramshackle ‘00s indie rock, with the two combining to create a track thats as irresistible as it is danceable.

“You’ve had a great night, you’ve got your kebab and all you wanna do is get home as quick as possible and eat half of it in bed (leaving the other half for breakfast of course).” the band say of the track.  “It’s a song for just that time, short, sweet and explosive, just like the end of a good night.”

Just 90 seconds of upbeat indie, ‘Take Me Home Taxi’ is a short and sunny jolt to the senses that arrives just in time for the Summer, and is the perfect way of shaking off any lingering Winter blues. It’s also the second(?) single to be taken from the forthcoming EP Anywhere Here Mate, which drops on May 26th.

Sour Punch are:

- Thomas Llywarch - Bass/Vocals
