Her fourth LP, and the follow up to her breakthrough Sucker’s Lunch (2020), the album was announced with the single "Superficial Conversation".Today, Kenney is sharing a second preview of the album with the single "I Drew A Line" an intriguing indication of the expanded sound her self-produced new LP.Her new LP is Kenney’s most expansive work, while also her most solitary. Where past releases have seen her collaborate with producers like Flock of Dimes member Jenn Wasner, A New Reality Mind was produced and recorded alone, and sees Kenney exploring new sonic landscapes. This is exemplified by the Laurie Anderson-esque "I Drew A Line," a track where textures collide and collude; sonic ornaments emerge and dissipate capriciously, and saxophones soar untamed."I’ve been thinking a lot about the stories I tell myself to keep plodding along, and how those stories can obfuscate certain realities," Kenney says of the track. "Stories not only set limits but also set us up for the most frightening awakening when life starts to contradict the story. When I went through a breakup I realized that the story I had been living out was much different in the plain light of day than what I had constructed out of fantasy. I think it’s very human to tell stories, and I think it can protect us, but what if we don’t need protection? What purpose does the story serve then?" TRACKLISTING1. Intro2. Plain Boring Disaster3.
