Maddie Regent Reveals New Single, "Sleeptalking"

Brooklyn-based pop singer and songwriter Maddie Regent returns with her new single, "Sleeptalking."

The song marks the start of a new chapter for Maddie Regent. Since releasing her sophomore EP, ‘Girl of Your Dreams,’ in late 2023, Maddie has been hard at work compiling a new batch of meticulously crafted pop tracks. “Sleeptalking” is the first of many singles that Maddie created with her partner, producer and songwriter Cade Hoppe in their home studio in Brooklyn. “Sleeptalking” also features additional production from Harper James of Eighty Ninety.

Layering organic instrumentation with glistening synth-pop production, “Sleeptalking” delivers a sound that’s both earthly and ethereal. Maddie’s effortlessly dreamy vocals and hypnotic melodies weave through these sonic layers, enveloping listeners in a cocoon of emotion.

‘Sleeptalking’ is about wanting to be happy about something you should be happy about, but you aren’t,” says Maddie. “And the longer you avoid confrontation, the more you wish for things to go south so your unhappiness feels justified. It’s classic self-sabotage and you know it.”

Hailing from Toronto and now based in New York City, Maddie first started making music at the age of 12. As an introverted child, music became her tool to express herself and work through her anxieties, helping her to find power in her vulnerability. After years of honing her sound, she’s found the perfect balance between escapist pop bops and raw, honest songwriting.

With her two EPs, MISS REGENT and Girl of Your Dreams, Maddie has captured the hearts of fans and tastemakers alike. Fueled by steadfast determination and an abundance of talent, as well as an arsenal of new songs ready to share, Maddie Regent is undoubtedly an artist to watch.
