Acclaimed, pioneering artist Lucinda Williams has released the stunning new song ‘Where the Song Will Find Me’ from her triumphant album Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart (out June 30th via Highway 20 Records/Thirty Tigers).
In November 2020, William suffered a stroke that partially impaired some of her motor skills on the left side of her body. Through hard work and sheer determination, she learned to walk again, but her ability to play the guitar has not yet returned, which is how the multi-Grammy Award-winner wrote the beloved songs in her revered canon.
Complete with a beautiful orchestral arrangement by Lawrence Rothman, ‘Where the Song Will Find Me’ offers an emotional and inspirational message from Williams that despite any setbacks, she will always continue to make music, by any means necessary. Listen to “Where the Song Will Find Me” HERE.
Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart was produced by Williams, Tom Overby and Ray Kennedy, who also engineered. The album includes guest backing vocals by Jeremy Ivey, Jesse Malin, Buddy Miller, Angel Olsen, Margo Price, Patti Scialfa, Bruce Springsteen and Tommy Stinson.
In April, Williams released her long-awaited memoir Don’t Tell Anybody The Secrets I Told You (Crown, a division of Penguin Random House LLC) to wide critical acclaim. The memoir debuted at #5 on the New York Times Bestsellers and was was featured on the cover of the New York Times Sunday Styles. Williams was featured at Vanity Fair, NPR All Things Considered, The Associated Press, Esquire, The Nation and much more including a recent sit down on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Williams will be the subject of an upcoming feature segment on CBS Sunday Morning.
