(28th August) Bristol-formed, London-based outfit Oslo Twins have unveiled new track "Sally", produced by band members Eric Davies and Claudia Vulliamy in their East London studio. Arriving alongside the announcement a headline show at The Waiting Room in London on 22 November, "Sally" is the first new music to be heard from Oslo Twins since their highly-praised 2023 debut EP 'Back To Nothing', released via Ali Chant’s Fascination Street Records.

Marking a new era for the band, releasing on new label Half-Normal Records (co-founded by the band's Eric Davies), "Sally" highlights a bright, rejuvenated sonic depth. Led by a brooding, infectious bassline and lifted by joyful synths; clean and intricately syncopated, this track is a thrilling showcase of Oslo Twins’ growth as producers and songwriters.

Exploring new territories both in their live and recorded sound, bringing electronic drums and clean synths to the forefront, Oslo Twins' music is venturing into cleaner, more expansive electronic territory, drawing influence from Nation Of Language, Angel Olsen, This Mortal Coil, Everything But The Girl, Lamb, Chromatics, Grace Ives and Ladytron.

There is a tone of yearning and melancholia within "Sally". Pithy and vernacular lyrics in the verses hint at hidden emotions, while the chorus reveals what’s behind the cool facade, as lead singer Claudia Vulliamy explains:

"It wasn’t easy fitting the words ‘Mrs Dalloway’ into the rhythm of a pop song....Sometimes when you’re drinking with people you’ve known for years, you get struck by an overwhelming awareness of the passage of time. Parties can feel like this, which is why I connected the lyrics to Mrs Dalloway, the titular character in Virginia Woolf’s novel. The central character organises a party full of people from her past and becomes wistful. Sally is the name of a character in the novel, an old friend - or old flame - of the protagonist, who reflects on when they were teenage girls with big ambitions."

"Sometimes I feel so hollow / like some kind of Mrs Dalloway"

Led by songwriters Claudia Vulliamy and Eric Davies, completed by Ed Lyness, Will Snelling and Luke Brown, since their formation Oslo Twins have taken the London and Bristol live music scenes by storm, supporting acts such as The Last Dinner Party, Blondshell, The Comet Is Coming, English Teacher, Picture Parlour, THUS LOVE, Folly Group amongst others, and performing at festivals including Green Man, Manchester Psych Fest, Sŵn Festival, They’re Gonna Be Big (Supersonic, Paris), and Dot to Dot.

To date, Oslo Twins have received notable support from BBC 6 Music DJs Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens, Guy Garvey, and Amy Lamé, alongside glowing press tips from influential publications such as So Young Magazine, The Independent, Wonderland Magazine, DIY Magazine, The Rodeo, CLASH Magazine, Whynow, Rough Trade, The Line Of Best Fit, and many more.

Oslo Twins' new single "Sally" is out now via Half-Normal Records. Oslo Twins headline The Waiting Room in London on 22nd November.
