LIVE REVIEW & GALLERY: Imelda May @ The Barbican, York
I'd not seen Imelda May perform live since November 2014 when I was blown away with her voice and the performance. She's matured since then, we all have. The rockabilly roots and victory rolls may be long gone but the voice is still there and is stronger than ever.
Leaning heavily on the newer material and effortlessly switching from the dramatic and emotional '11 Past the Hour' to the slightly saucy rocker 'Just One Kiss' all the time sharing stories with the slightly older than expected crowd at the Barbican.
The Dubliner oozes confidence in her own skin from start to finish and did I mention her voice? This is someone who must be seen live to truly appreciate her range and power.
Imelda manages to make you feel like your sat tapping your foot 3 tables away in a bar regardless of the size of the venue
