Japanese instrumental rock band LITE are delighted to announce a run of UK/EU tour dates including appearances at The Great Escape Festival and PORTALS Festival this May 2024.

The band will also play several European dates supported by LA-based math rock duo Standards.

LITE released a bonus version of their 7th full album STRATA on 1st May 2024 on CD and LP, including an original bonus track ‘Sosue’ released on streaming platforms the same day. Watch the official visualiser HERE.

As frontman Nobuyuki Takeda (guitar and vocals) describes it, the new song is "the craziest 'indecipherable' song" from the band yet, surpassing 190 BPM and making it the fastest song in LITE's history.

Previous cover stars of Spotify’s ‘Math Rock’ playlist and featured on the official ‘Post Rock’ playlist, the band are known for their thrilling and emotional compositions, progressive, edgy riffs, and complex rhythms. Widely regarded for their explosive live show and tireless touring in the US, Europe, and Asia, LITE are being hailed as one of the most exciting bands to emerge from Japan in the last twenty years.

Now entering their 21st year together, LITE boast a tremendous back catalogue of seven full-length albums and six EPs, including 2010's Illuminate—recorded with John McEntire (Tortoise and The Sea, Cake)—and 2012's Past, Present, Future, which featured Caroline Lufkin (Mice Parade). Their sixth full length record, Multiple, was released on US label Topshelf Records in 2019. The band also penned the official soundtrack to Netflix film Bright: Samurai Soul in 2021.

Over the past two decades, the Japanese quartet have established themselves as one of the most influential groups across a host of subgenres. Though usually referred to by genre touchstones such as “math rock” or “post-rock,” LITE have developed an uncanny ability to fuse their influences into their own unmistakable dialect that defies generic genre classification.

New album STRATA (Bonus Version) is out now.
