LILY LYONS
SHARES NEW SINGLE 'SPINNING SIDES'

OUT NOW ON FICTION RECORDS

Lily Lyons searches for truth in her music, exploring simple things that are easily forgotten - not revolutionary, but the everyday beauty and tragedy of relationships. Each track that Lily writes is a beautiful vignette capturing her experiences so far, with perceptive lyrics delivered in an elegant voice that could easily sit among the greats. Today, Lily shares the arresting hush of her brand-new single ‘Spinning Sides’. Likening the changes in both her family and her journey with music to the process of transforming cream into butter - “Compromise and darkness ruled my life…But with a flick of a switch, the sun seemed so bright” - the track was inspired by a quote from the poem “Flow Chart” by John Ashbery and follows ‘Spectre’ as her second single to be released on Fiction Records.

Lily says of the track:  “Spinning Sides is a song about how change isn’t always easy to see when it’s happening, and then all of a sudden you find yourself where you were always wanting to go.”

Having completed a run of UK support dates with Tiny Ruins last year, Lily is set to join Dan Mangan on his extensive EU tour this Spring following recent standout performances at Sofar Sounds and The Chapel at St Barnabus, as well as festival slots at Mutations Festival, Golden Slippers and Celtic Connections.
