Oxfordshire post-hardcore outfit LASTELLE have today self-released a beautiful collection of compositions with brand new EP ‘Exist Vol. i’. The release includes new single ‘In Unison’, which is the final of these six epic tracks, closing out the EP in insatiably heartbreaking fashion. Watch the new music video now. Guitarist Jonjo Williams explains “In Unison deals with the unshakeable feeling of emptiness that is felt after losing someone close to you, and how you can feel like you've lost a part of yourself along with them.” This track is the answer to ‘In Separation’, which precedes it on the release and introduces the theme of a voicemail to someone who will never hear it. The motif expresses “a purge of emotions that it was never possible to communicate to the recipient - a message to a loved one lost due to illness.”

LASTELLE will celebrate the EP’s birth into this world with a special one-off release show at The Black Heart in London on 18th September, which is now sold out. Band-inspired cocktails will be available from the bar, with vegan hot wings from LD’s Kitchen and special band tattoo flash from Devil’s Door Tattoo also on offer. LASTELLE will be supported by Sleep Outside & Arimea.

Throughout ‘Exist Vol. i’ the listener is enveloped in a whirlwind of emotion and yearning. Previous single ‘Life in Silhouettes’ tracks bassist Freddie Whatmore’s journey to understand his neurodivergent mind. In the process of writing it, he says “I realised that I was writing about feeling unsure of my place in the world, and the fear of finding out there was "something wrong with my brain". The final major chorus turns the question around, and asks in rhetoric "What was I afraid of this whole time?"” LASTELLE also deal with the hardships of falling out of love (‘Breathe Me In’) and season-related mental health issues and coming through the other side of those struggles (‘Changes with the Seasons’). There are trials and tribulations throughout but there’s also a sense of hope in living through overcoming these hurdles.

LASTELLE have drawn comparisons to the likes of Underoath, Atreyu and Holding Absence. An independent force to be reckoned with, having only released a handful of singles and two EPs to date, the band have amassed 3,000,000+ total streams and 80,000+ followers across all platforms. They’ve toured and played shows with Holding Absence, Caskets, Dream State, Our Hollow Our Home, As Everything Unfolds, Acres, IMMERSE, and more. The band have been played on BBC Radio 1 by both Alyx Holcombe & Nels Hylton, and praised by publications like Metal Hammer and Rock Sound.
