“Lake Malice are the UK’s most exciting new alt.metal band.” - Kerrang!

“They are destined to be the talk of the town. Dark, chaotic and devilishly fun, they ebb and flow between techno breaks and towering heaviness.” - Metal Hammer

“The sound of British heaviness to come.”
- Rock Sound

Forward-thinking duo Lake Malice have revealed their reflective new track ‘Eternal December’, which is about profound emotions of homesickness and seasonal depression. It’s inspired by vocalist Alice Guala's experience of moving countries and having to rebuild meaningful connections in a place which can sometimes feel like an “Eternal December”. Guala and guitarist/co-instigator Blake Cornwall say: “We wrote this song in the wintery months when the rain never stopped and we barely saw the sun. It feels like something everyone can relate to on some level. Our aim has always been to avoid limitations on where we take our music and we’re extremely proud of this multilayered composition which incorporates elements of EDM, hyperpop and metalcore.”

Lake Malice have also announced the supports for their first ever headline tour of the UK, which kicks off next week. The 12 dates around the country will see them joined by buzzing London-based metal act TheCityIsOurs, electro-infused Leeds band Artio and Herts power trio High Regard. Tickets are on sale now. 2023 saw Lake Malice’s powerful live presence ignite stages Europe-wide alongside the likes of As Everything Unfolds, Bloodywood, Skindred, Vukovi, Vended and Enter Shikari. They also captivated crowds at festivals such as The Great Escape, Download, Misery Loves Company and 2000trees, at which Kerrang! proclaimed they “have no right to be burning this hot already.”

‘Post-Genesis’ is Lake Malice’s recently-released debut EP, which is out now via SO Recordings. The EP collated a clutch of the duo’s killer singles to date. They’ve been putting their supreme songwriting skills to good use, exploring a number of weighty topics - social anxiety in a post-pandemic world (‘Stop The Party’), toxic codependency in relationships (‘Black Turbine’), the complexity of family values (‘Mitsuko’), and people who abuse their position of power (‘Power Game’). Lake Malice’s intense and unique splicing of hyperpop and metal has already earned them two nominations at the Heavy Music Awards and their recent singles have seen regular appearances on BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang! Radio, as well as spots in the likes of the Kerrang! Chart and Metal Hammer’s Tracks of The Week. They’ve also appeared on the cover of mega Spotify playlist ‘misfits 2.0’ and snatched a much-coveted spot on the New Music Friday UK playlist, amongst a plethora of other DSP features.
