Packing their hopes and dreams into emotionally-charged, intricately-written flashes of intense, people-moving songcraft, Stockport’s prodigious The Rolling People return with their latest single, Before It’s Gone – OUT NOW on LAB Records. Watching the world around them collapse into self-consciousness, fear and disillusion, the major-venue-bound four-piece go another step to affirming their youth-borne confidence and infectious, poetic positivity with another three-and-a-half-minute people pleaser.

Opening with fuzzed chords reminiscent of classic early-era Suede, the follow-up to February’s showstopping I’ll Be There single – the first from the band’s upcoming Before It’s Gone EP – expands to become a rushing wave of interlocked guitar lines and a stormy rhythm section in perfect sync. That sonic rush is wrapped neatly around front man, Charlie McNichol’s impressive, impassioned vocal delivery.

He says of the song:We wrote ‘Before It’s Gone’ as a continuation of our new chapter as a band, exploring a richer sound. I wanted to write a song that had a massive lifting chorus with a more ballady, but still driving and heavy with the feeling we are on a journey to grab our chance before it disappears. It’s us exploring the idea of living your own life and doing everything you can to reach your ambitions.”

Rapidly spreading into the consciousness of escapist music lovers living for the love of communal gig experiences at just 18-years-old, The Rolling People’s live schedule for 2024 grows longer as the road to their own headline date at Manchester’s O2 Ritz this December stretches out ahead of them. Adding to support dates with Luka State, the band has announced they will join established indie-pop runaway train, The K’s at their landmark O2 Victoria Warehouse date in Manchester on Fri 26 April. Two further support dates with Andrew Cushin and a London headline date at Water Rats on Fri 5 April add to the sense of unstoppable momentum.

With more new music on the way ahead of the Before It’s Gone EP’s scheduled completion in early summer, released on both digital and vinyl formats, the band commits to taking the traditional route to stardom via long motorway journeys and in sweaty, eyeball-to-eyeball gig venues. The full list of confirmed The Rolling People shows for 2024 so far is:

Fri 26 Apr - Manchester, O2 Victoria Warehouse w/ The K’s
Sun 5 May – Liverpool, Sound City
Sat 3 Aug – Newton, Newton Music Festival
Sat 21 Dec - Manchester O2 Ritz

Finding a shared love of classic rock, indie and 90s alternative music together, The Rolling People began to shudder into life as a band when each member was just 15-years of age. With a SOLD-OUT debut headline UK Tour coming just two years later, their meld of upfront influences from The Verve to Fontaines DC and Foo Fighters have become the ingredients in blood-quickening musical cocktail that listeners seeking honest, relatable connection have actively sought out.

Their 2023 self-release of fan-favourite single, Better Man, hit No.1 on the iTunes Rock Chart and No.14 on the iTunes Official Chart, launching them instantly to a wider audience. By catching the attention of LAB Records, launchpad for the mainstream careers of artists including The Ks, Nell Mescal, Antony Szmierek and many more, The Rolling People now hit the accelerator pedal to the seemingly inevitable destinations of even bigger festival and venue stages.
