LA via BC Singer-Songwriter Sam Weber Releases Subtle and Poetic New LP, 'Clear and Plain,' Featuring 'Tamarindo Sunsets"

Emerging from the bright, wide skies of Canada's west coast, Sam Weber has spent the last decade variously honing his craft as a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. Now based in Los Angeles, he is set to release a new collection of solo work with Clear and Plain, a group of simple and beautiful folk and jazz inflected songs which lean into sensory experiences and underscore Weber’s values.
Clear and Plain features the focus track, “Tamarindo Sunsets,” what Weber calls a “social media song.” “Tamarindo Sunsets” couples Weber’s gentle vocals with warm upright bass, searching piano, and understated acoustic guitar playing. “If I stay at home, can I still get free? If there’s something new, can you text it to me? ‘Cause I’m going offline, I’m going offline, I’m going offline until the end of time,” he asserts.

Sam Weber is a Canadian singer-songwriter known for his distinctive style that blends elements of folk, rock, and Americana. Weber’s music often features thoughtful lyrics and a blend of contemporary and traditional musical influences, making him a unique figure in the indie music scene.
A perceptive and compelling singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist in the vein of Jackson Browne, The Band, The Wood Brothers and Gillian Welch, Weber has been touring independently and internationally with his band since 2013 — just after he scored a glowing profile in Guitar Player Magazine.
Years spent refining songs at home in North Saanich, BC, working in studios in Los Angeles, CA and gigging relentlessly across Canada and throughout the Western US have honed Weber’s craft to a fine point.
