KNIFE BRIDE release new single ‘MELANCHOLIA’ ahead of Download and 2000trees festival performances

KNIFE BRIDE have released a razor-sharp-edged new single ahead of their performances at Download and 2000trees festivals this summer. ‘MELANCHOLIA’ is out today and, as vocalist Mollie Clack says, “This song is about the disconnect we have in certain relationships. How we are all desperate to love and be loved, yearning to be seen and understood, always falling short of expectations and expelling too much sacred energy.” That yearning really comes through in Clack’s powerful, emotive vocal, which spearheads the track alongside some absolutely critical riffs from guitarist Sean Windle and bassist Craig Glynn, all powered along by drummer Sean Millsopp’s tightly-wound beats.

KNIFE BRIDE are a Nu-Gothika metal band formed in Brighton who have developed their own immersive sound. Inky influences ranging from Spiritbox and Bring Me The Horizon all the way through to Kate Bush via the likes of Karnivool, are fused with cinematic fantasy to create character narratives and explore human experiences.

The band have had a whirlwind couple of years marking their stamp in the heavy scene with plays on BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang! Radio, appearances in Metal Hammer magazine, sets at festivals like Download, Burn It Down and The Great Escape, appearances with Japanese metal band HANABIE and Graphic Nature, and full tours under the wings of WARGASM and Scene Queen at sold out iconic British venues such as London’s O2 Kentish Town Forum. They’ve played with Vukovi in Germany and London, and last year embarked on a 20-date tour supporting true crime industrial rock band SKYND in venues all across Europe. KNIFE BRIDE have also sold out headline shows at hometown Brighton's Green Door Store three times, all within two years of formation.

This year the band has been nominated for Heavy Music Awards’ 'Best UK Breakthrough Artist' and 'Best Breakthrough Live Artist'.

LIVE DATES:
