“We made this video for those who may need strength to free themselves from the grip of a toxic relationship and it’s clear to see the large impact based on the amount of responses I’ve received so far,” says Loder.

There is something truly captivating about Juno Award nominee and 2023 ECMA Songwriter & TD Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year Kellie Loder. They are an accomplished songwriter with a voice that conveys warmth and power lending to their unmatched songwriting prowess, and distinctive blend of folk, Americana, and indie pop influences. Having debuted on CBC’s East Coast Music Hour with Bill Roach in mid-October, “Can’t Go Back” sees Loder reflecting inward on personal hardships.  As the autumn leaves fall so too does the past. There’s no looking back, no matter how painful it may be.

“Can’t Go Back” is the second single to be released from Loder’s highly anticipated fourth studio record Transitions, hitting shelves globally on April 19th, 2024. The first new music from Loder since their first-runner-up win on Canada’s Got Talent in 2022, it follows their award-winning release, Benefit of The Doubt (2018), offering a stunningly crafted masterpiece of original songs with stories of love, heartbreak, life, and transitions.

The record’s lead single ‘When It Comes To You” (released September 2023), topped CBC Music’s Top 20 countdown snagging the #1 spot and receiving the most online votes for six consecutive weeks in early November. A true testament to Loder’s incredible musicianship, CBC Music host Grant Lawrence comments, “it is yet another showcase of this artist’s amazing range.” Their lyrical brilliance is honest and vulnerable in ways that make the music feel deeply personal.
