June Round-Up: CRB 10 Best Singles
This month was the hardest yet! We listened to some blinding new music across June’s 55+ single reviews. Picking out our 10 favourites was near impossible. We’ve had to leave out some exceptional music from incredibly talented artists.
We think our picks, spanning a whole plethora of genres, are the very cream of the crop, the songs that shone just that little bit brighter.
Give them a spin, add them to your own playlists, and show the artist the love they deserve!
The Gleeman - Marie
'Marie' is beautifully melodic with a bright and breezy aura. A celebration of life and achieving your goals. A heartwarming toe-tapper with charming harmonies and endearing energy.
Elastic Justice - Ram Raid the Palace of Wonder
Bursting with British wit and an Only Fools and Horses vibe 'Ram Raid the Palace of Wonder' is a catchy, outlandish dose of fun that's sure to raise a smile.
Die Tired - Better Off Alive
'Better Off Alive' is a stunningly catchy tune for anyone going through hardship or having blackened thoughts. It's a beacon, the light at the end of the tunnel, a friendly hand in the dark encouraging you to battling forward.
Friendship Commanders - High Sun
'High Sun' is a stunning example of fuzzed-out grunge, melodic but distorted, it's a track epic in every way.
Huriel - Way
'Way' presents a contemplative moment to reconnect with things that have seeped into the darkness, a bright sound shrouded in heavy-heartedness with an air of mystery and mystical shadows.
WIREHOUND - Vandal Van Gogh
In short, 'Vandal Van Gogh' is perfect, everything about it works flawlessly. The songwriting is faultless; the words hit deep and last long after the track ends.
AiramFM - Serenity
An enticing, positive listen Marie is a wonderful talent who I think will blossom as she gains confidence and more industry experience.
Soraia - Every Motion
'Every Motion' is soulful yet gritty. Soraia and undeniably on the way up!
The Survival Code - Built to Break
New single 'Built To Break' is some of the best new music you'll hear this year.
Earthlung - Salvation
It mounts and melts throughout as the lyrics pour with sensations of emotional unrest; a yearning for salvation, and a still mind.
