After the success of his debut single Casual, that gained attention from the likes of Amazing Radio, Jack Foz is back with his second single, I’m Coming Home. Having continued to grow his following on social media, gaining around 25,000 followers across all platforms, the hype surrounding I’m Coming Home is evident, with the indie-rock bop being described as ‘the perfect soundtrack to your summer adventures’ whilst ‘making you feel like you’re living through the feel good ending of your favourite film’.
Calling London his home, Jack Foz’s aspirations of combining modern with old have been realised through this single, with modern production and artistry being intertwined with throwback sounds and synthesiser tones that’ll have fans thinking they’re living in the wrong decade. However, whilst this track is filled to the brim with high-energy rhythms mirroring bands such as Catfish and the Bottlemen, U2, and Coldplay, and emotive major chords, it’s message is unexpectedly dark. When asked about the meaning of I’m Coming Home, Jack said, ‘The track addresses some of, what I believe, to be the world’s greatest problems, through the scope of a traveller who has become sick of the world, and is finally returning home as a result. These include topics such as greed, loneliness, the environment, and the fear that it may be too late to change. Whilst these topics may somewhat contradict the happy atmosphere of the arrangement, this is quite deliberate; it reflects the way in which I often hide my anxiety and sadness behind a smile’.
Recorded at Tilehouse Studios, engineered and mixed by Luke Oldfield (The Wytches, Scors, Gypsy Fingers), and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, The Pixies, Liam Gallagher), I’m Coming Home looks to turn up the noise Jack Foz is already making in the airwaves of the U.K.’s underground music scene. With pumping drums, soaring melodies, and an emotive delivery, the song is certainly a crowd pleaser, and one that’s set to get live audiences jumping around, so make sure you don’t miss out.
