Irish Artist Miranda Faul To Release Her Highly Anticipated Debut EP “Rise & Run" on January 17th 2025

With this EP, Miranda asserts a compelling and distinctive presence, showcasing a masterful blend of folk, pop, R&B, and soul influences that signal her readiness to make a significant impact on the contemporary music landscape. “You Would Have Let Me Down”, a single from the EP that dropped on Friday October 11th, debuted on BBC Across The Line, BBC Introducing, and The Greene Room with Jenny Greene on RTE 2FM ahead of it’s release.

The EP opens with "Rise & Run," an electrifying pop anthem infused with R&B and country undertones that addresses generational trauma. Next is "Delicate," a shimmering electro-pop ballad that explores the pain of being trapped in a toxic relationship. This melts into "Not Much of a Man," an upbeat R&B track that captures both the fun and the frustration of yearning for the wrong person. The mood shifts significantly with the closing track, "You Would Have Let Me Down," a folk-pop masterpiece that evolves from a raw, stripped intro into a powerful, atmospheric finale. Featuring a rich tapestry of piano, guitars, synths, strings, and percussion, this song poignantly addresses the decision to end a relationship before it can cause more harm.

Miranda's unique sound shines throughout the EP, marked by her emotive vocals, harmonious vocal layering, and distinctive songwriting. Her poetic, introspective lyrics wrapped in infectious melodies create a cohesive and dynamic musical experience. The EP was produced by Cian Sweeney.

Speaking on the focus track “Rise and Run”, Miranda says ‘Rise and Run is a song about generational trauma. It’s about giving yourself permission to detach yourself from a broken parent and find your own happiness. I’ve been writing it all my life. The chorus is a poem I wrote when I was eight years old. I wrote the song around the poem when I was 19 and had just started to write songs. I’m 24 now, and I rewrote it this year before recording it, examining the situation from a fresh perspective. Rise & Run was produced by Cian Sweeney. It's a fight for survival, it’s got grit and backbone, and I wanted the production to be infused with energy. I wanted listeners to be able to dance to it, but get caught by the lyrics and find catharsis in them. We built to dance pop with country and R&B undertones, but we used my original acoustic guitar part throughout to keep a singer-songwriter root.’
