Introducing....Undercover Pangolin
To Kick off Click Roll Boom’s exciting new “Introducing” feature where we put the spotlight on some exciting new bands we think everyone should listen to, we spoke to Norwich Alt Rock collective Undercover Pangolin to learn where the band came from and what the future holds.
Describe Undercover Pangolin in 4 words…
Rock, funk, alternative and indie.
Tell me a bit about how Undercover Pangolin formed?
Our vocalist Aaron B and guitarists Aaron S and Joe were previously in a local band called ‘High Function’ which came to an end in late 2020. This subsequently led to Aaron S looking for people to jam with, which brings bass guitarist Georgia and drummer Harry into the equation. When both Aarons and Joe decided to start a new band, Aaron B wanted to move out from behind the drum kit and concentrate on vocals which meant the trio found themselves in need of a drummer and bassist, and, of course, as luck would have it…
Biggest influences?
We have a whole host of personal influences between the five of us, but a few of the correlating ones which have really inspired our musical output include Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party, Linkin Park and Rage Against The Machine.
Highlight of your career so far?
The highlight of our career so far has either been releasing ‘See It All’- our most successful single so far, or supporting Youth Killed It in our second ever gig as Undercover Pangolin, which was only our drummer and bassist’s second ever time playing live!
What does the future hold for Undercover Pangolin?
The current plan for the near future is to get our last few singles out before channelling our energies into working on our debut EP, all whilst playing as many gigs as we can.
What are you working on at the moment?
In rehearsals, we’re simultaneously working on new material for the aforementioned EP, and tightening up our current set list for the next few gigs we have lined up over the coming months.
Shameless plug for your latest album/single….
Our newest single ‘Rabbit Hole’ came out at the beginning of the month, we’d love you to listen to it. It’s available on most major streaming platforms, including our Spotify and YouTube pages which you can find right here:
