Introducing....TRUTHTELLER
In this instalment of Introducing we speak to Norwich based 5 piece TRUTHTELLER who explain to us about how while others were busy making lockdown babies they were busy forming a band!
Click Roll Boom: Hi! How are you?
TRUTHTELLER: We’re good, thank you! Busy in the best way.
CRB: Five words to describe the band best…
TT: Energy, ambience, contrast, riffs, chunk
CBR: Tell us the story of how TRUTHTELLER came to be?
TT: Some people made lockdown babies - we made a lockdown band. We came together just before the pandemic hit and did much of our initial songwriting online. Between lockdowns we slowly recruited more members until we became the 5-piece you see now. It was a strange process, but in a way it strengthened us. We developed a style of songwriting completely new to each of us, but one that meant we could create music wherever we were. It that sense, you could say it was a blessing in disguise.
CRB: Who would you cite as your biggest influences?
TT: We all have very different musical tastes and each bring something unique to the creative process; it’s probably more informative to say who we’ve been told we sound like. Thrice, Holding Absence and Boston Manor are all good comparisons.
CRB: What have been the band's highlights so far?
TT: Being featured on Radio 5 Live as part of their ‘Now That’s What I Call Lockdown’ segment, and more recently recording with Tom Joy for our second EP.
CBR: What does the future hold for you?
TT: A second EP, bigger riffs, frantic live shows and, as always, gigging as far and wide as we can.
CRB: What exciting projects are you working on at the moment?
TT: We’re already hard at work on our second EP and every song is bigger and better than anything we’ve done before. We really feel like we’ve found our sound with this one and can’t wait for everyone to hear it.
CRB: Shameless plug for your latest album/single….
TT: Our debut, self-titled EP released this month! Check it out on all streaming platforms.
CRB: Thanks for chatting to us, best of luck for the future. Keep rocking!
