Introducing: TV's Daniel

INTRODUCING: TV'S DANIEL

DEBUT ALBUM ' NEVER CHANGE' OUT ON SEPTEMBER 1ST VIA WILD HONEY RECORDS

HEAR FIRST SINGLE 'FACE DOWN IN THE DITCH (OF LOVE)'

Austin, TX-based band TV's Daniel announce the release of their debut album 'Never Change', out on September 1st via Wild Honey Records.

Today, they share first single 'Face Down In The Ditch (Of Love)'. Lead singer Daniel Fried explains: “'Face Down In The Ditch (Of Love)' was the first song I ever wrote for TV’s Daniel, before the world imploded and built itself back again. I wanted to challenge myself and see if I could write a good song using only one chord. Part of the impetus of starting a solo band is having a project where no one can tell you "no". So, I tried to mix as many influences as I can into the song and filter them through my brain and years of playing in other bands. Foggy Notion meets early Psychedelic Furs, with some great guitar work by Jason Smith, reminiscent of the Soft Boys and Television. Not bad for one chord. Lyrically, the song is about readying yourself to be open for love. Not getting hung up inside your head and being able to appreciate what’s in front of you, or what’s sneaking up behind you".

TV’s Daniel formed in 2017, igniting a new punk ethos era that Austin, TX so deeply yearned for. Daniel Fried is no stranger to music, playing in bands such as Bad Sports, Radioactivity, and VIDEO. After years of collaborating with other people, Daniel decided he wanted to create his own band, his own sound, with his own principles. Reminiscent of British pop anthems and eighties opulent rock, TV’s Daniel was formed. Chris Prorock rips heavy drum beats, Jason Smith (OBN III’s) Ryan Fitzgibbon (Porcelain) and Mike Garrido (OBN III’s, Baxu) each make their own unique sound on guitar, while Lisa Alley (The Well) shreds bass and offers her perfectly pitched harmonies when given the chance. Throughout TV’s Daniel’s amplified simple chord structures, they seamlessly navigate the devastation of love, the influence of sex and the power of failing upwards. For all intents and purposes, Daniel Fried assembled a band, but through TV’s Daniel,  he’s created a musical freedom that finally feels obtainable for the rest of us.
