(30th September) Fast-rising New York psych-garage four-piece The Thing have announced a full UK & EU headline tour for this autumn. With UK dates in Coventry, Nottingham, Manchester, Telford, and London - on 1st October - the band will also make several stops in France & Spain.
Completing their lineup in the winter of 2022, The Thing consists of Zane Acord (vocals, bass), Jack Bradley (guitar), Michael Carter (guitar), and Lucas Ebeling (drums).
Self recording, producing and writing songs between their Brooklyn studio Onion Records and Zane's childhood home in Connecticut - The Thing are a band committed to doing everything they can in-house, creating their own visuals, and crafting a visual identity that marries the grit of the 90s with the effortless temptation of the 70s.
Sonically the band are influenced by 60’s pioneers such as the Kinks, Grand Funk Railroad, and artists of The Nuggets Compilation. The Thing jump started their success once they fell in love with being on the road and fans started experiencing their live shows, with the band envisioning a career akin to the likes of Brian Jonestown Massacre, King Gizzard, and The Black Keys.
Now 2 years later, The Thing have two independently released albums under their belt, 2023 debut 'Here's The Thing' and 2024's 'The Thing Is' - and have played over 200 shows, with sold-out headline dates stretching across the breadth of the States and beyond.
With notable recent dates at US festivals including Governors Ball, Boston Calling, Treefort, Hopscotch Festival, and Summerfest, now The Thing bring their taut, explosive psych-garage rock to European shores for the first time for an extensive headline run this autumn.
