Instrumental Post-Rock Band, The Color of Cyan announces new album “Egress” & share self-titled single

Chicago-based The Color of Cyan, once again blurs the boundaries of their post, metal, and Neoclassical labels by exploring introspective emotions through delicate layering in their second fulllength studio album “Egress”, available on all major platforms by September 1st.

With Egress, the band wrote and structured the music as the arc of a film, with incidents, conflicts, climax, and resolution. Their music arrangements are purposely in constant motion, guided by emotions, impossible to replicate perfectly, like waves in the sea. Nothing is ever the same as before.

“Egress” was recorded between Puerto Rico, Chicago, and Mexico City. The album was mixed by Greg Norman at Electrical Audio and mastered by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound.

From the Artist:

“Egress embodies the pursuit of happiness no matter the obstacles in life.”

The Color of Cyan‘s epic, cinematic music is recommended for fans of Sigur-Ros, Godspeed! You Black Emperor, MONO, Explosions in the Sky, Russian Circles and TOOL.

A truly immersive soundscape of engulfing sounds. It’s a very emotion evoking instrumental piece. All the strings are stunning. It feels like an epic journey into the darkness.
