Today, 6th September, I Have A Tribe (“One of Ireland’s most exceptional musicians” - The Irish Times) shares new single, ‘Sunshine’. The release comes just a month in advance of the release of his second album Changing of the Guard, which arrives on the 6th of October.

I Have A Tribe - A.K.A. Patrick O’Laoghaire - says: “Sunshine is a song about love, for love, of love, with love. Love, in my experience, is good fun. And love keeps moving in new ways. Love is a good scene. Lionnar is a word I learned from a book by Manchan Magan that means the glistening of light moving on an ocean. This glistening reminds me of her, and she reminds me of this glistening. Lionnar love.”
 

The single release comes with news of more Irish and UK live dates from I Have A Tribe in Mayo, Dublin and London, with further shows to be announced.

I Have A Tribe writes songs that feel like an extension of his soul. It’s a trait which has made him a real musician’s musician, leading to Bon Iver and The National inviting him to perform at the PEOPLE festival where he collaborated with Beirut, Feist and Damien Rice. He has also played shows with Villagers, Anna Calvi and Lisa Hannigan, and performed in CARM’s live band for arena shows with Bon Iver.

Upcoming album Changing of the Guard is a vibrant, warm record that is full of humanity. On it, Patrick’s influences are evident: the plaintiveness of Anohni and the unorthodox balladry of Devendra Banhart, as well as following Leonard Cohen’s guiding principle that the cracks are where the light gets through. Yet amongst these echoes, this album can only be the work of I Have A Tribe.
