HIMALAYAS have released their brand new single‘What If…?’via Nettwerk Music Group.

Produced by Pete Hutchings (Royal Blood, Nothing But Thieves, Skindred), the punchy rock track finds the Cardiff four-piece reflecting on personal and global problems, while also accepting how little the individual can do to influence the path they are on.

‘What If…?’ deals with the anxieties of our time and concludes that in order not to be overwhelmed by feelings of helplessness and detachment, the only option is to stop caring and accept the uncertainty of the road ahead.

Regarding the single frontman Joe Williams says,“Having recorded ‘What If…?’ with Pete Hutchings in Hereford it was a no brainer that we should get it released as soon as we could. The music we’ve released recently just felt like a step forward for us as a band and ‘What If…?’ feels like another jump ahead of where we’ve been.

I love the energy that is inherent in the song. The lyrics and vocal melodies came quickly, and the drums are influenced by The Prodigy and Run The Jewels. Pete really kept that hip hop essence with the drums during the recording process. The whole song fell into place really well and it was a stand out single for us from the beginning!”

HIMALAYAS debuted the track live earlier this week as they played a frenzied show at London’s Underworld to celebrate the release. The band will be hitting the road again next month for a full UK tour with Kids In Glass Houses.

The band are on a dizzying upward trajectory since the release of their debut albumFrom Hell To Herein 2023, which quickly proved them to be a vital new band in the UK rock scene.

From Hell To Herehas achieved over 93 million streams and led them to work with the very upper echelons of rock royalty, including co-writing with AC/DC’s Brian Johnson on the recent single ‘V.O.V’, while also being asked to support Foo Fighters at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium earlier this summer.

HIMALAYAS are no strangers to big stages, and prior to supporting Foo Fighters they have performed to capacity arena crowds with Manic Street Preachers and Stereophonics. On December 14th2024 they will also be supporting Those Damn Crows at Cardiff Arena.
