HER SKIN: new single "Karen's Couch" out now for WWNBB
After her groundbreaking comeback in January with the song Practical Magic, Sara Ammendolia alias HER SKIN continues to release inspired new music: the second single is entitled Karen's Couch and is out today, April 12th, via WWNBB Collective.
A bittersweet pop rock track capable of captivating from the first listen thanks to a delightfully catchy melody that resonates with increasing intensity and, in the chorus, explodes like a liberation. Guided by Sara's crystal-clear voice, the guitars unleash gritty riffs that run after each other throughout the song, culminating in an electrifying solo at the end. This is the key to Her Skin's new sound, which, while remaining dreamy and delicate, becomes more intense, rich and refined, also revealing a definitely gritty, energic and lively unseen character.
«I wrote “Karen's Couch” literally for a boy I kissed in Texas on our friend's Karen's couch, but I guess it's a song about falling in love with someone that is not ready to fall in love with you, who's not gonna give you what you need, who is still thinking about their ex».
BIOGRAPHY
HER SKIN, stage name of Sara Ammendolia, is a 27-year-old Italian singer-songwriter born and raised between Modena and its province. Over the years, she has shared the stage with artists like Francesco Motta, The Zen Circus, Cat Power and Kele Okereke (Bloc Party) and her resume already counts appearances at festivals of international importance such as Ypsigrock, Eurosonic, Sziget, SXSW, The Great Escape, New Colossus, Primavera Sound, Reeperbahn, as well as two tours in Europe, a tour in India, the opening of both Italian dates of Cat Power's world tour and the drawing concerts tour Quando Tutto Diventò Blu by Corrado Nuccini and Alessandro Baronciani.
Her career began in 2015 with the release of the EP Goodbyes and Endings, followed in 2016 by the second EP Head Above the Deep.
In 2018 she released her first full-length, Find a Place to Sleep, on the Italian-American label WWNBB, which took her to the stages of major festivals around the world, even hitting India. The year 2022 saw the return of Her Skin with the second album I started a garden, which was presented with a tour full of dates in Italy, Europe and America.
In the wake of this latest record, she is releasing a series of new songs in 2024, again via WWNBB. The first, Practical Magic, was released on January 19th. The new single, out on April 12th, is entitled Karen's Couch.
