Glasgow’s The Wits share single ‘Second Thought’ - OUT NOW!

Second Thought

Ultimately “Second Thought” describes singer Seanpaul’s experiences with anxiety and relentless pressure, however we all relate to the lyrics in various ways.

Particularly in the chorus which some of us perceive as stress of the future and thoughts of failure as a creative individual.

Originally, the song came from a funk guitar riff inspired by Nile Rodgers to which fuzz guitar and a driving bass was added. Despite this, it soon developed into something with a bigger chorus and minimalistic, groove-based verses

Biography

The Wits comprises Seanpaul Fabiani on Vocals (18), Seán Green on Guitar and Backing Vocals (18), Gabriel McNelis on Guitar (18), Jude McNelis on Bass Guitar (16) and Adrian Woodside on Drums (18), who formed in August 2021. After a string of gigs throughout their native Inverclyde & beyond, the band released their debut single “Memory” in June of 2022. The release was followed by a series of sold out shows from Edinburgh to Glasgow which included 2 sold-out headline at the legendary King Tuts. Adding on to this with a few support slots with up and coming Scottish bands SLIX, The Big Day and Gallus. The band’s sound boasts influences ranging from Fontaines D.C. to Echo & the Bunnymen with the exuberant pop-rock maximalism of Declan McKenna thrown in for good measure.

Following an appearance at the Isle of Wight Festival and The Garage, the band looks forward to releasing new single “Second Thought” produced by Ryan Hunter of The Big Day and Chris Marshall – representing an ability to merge pop hooks with punchy guitars and atmosphere.
