Giant Walker Release ‘Time to Waste’ on Church Road Records

Giant Walker are a Heavy Progressive Rock band from Newcastle, UK. After individually relocating 300 miles to further develop their craft, the Geordie quartet was coincidentally born in the South, bound together by their northern heritage and a shared love for bands such as Karnivool, Soundgarden, Radiohead and Deftones. Their music captures the many lows of loneliness and tips a hat to the music that gets you through hard times; sweeping you up in a conceptual journey, from giant riffs to melancholic melodies, and ambient soundscapes. Giant Walker have stitched together a sound, woven from the fabric of their influences, that can't be found elsewhere.

Giant Walker recently signed to Church Road Records and have since had coverage with BBC Radio 1, Kerrang, PROG, Metal Hammer, Knotfest and more. The band recently announced details for their sophomore album ’Silhouettes’ (Out 20th September 2024) as well as a full UK regional album release tour in October. Following their anthemic title-track single, Silhouettes, Giant Walker are set to release the final single, Time To Waste, on the 16th August ahead of their forthcoming album and fresh from their UK tour with Future Static and their huge performance at Radar Festival.

Time To Waste is a sleazy, riff-driven track that delivers non-stop swinging grooves. Guitarist Jamie Southern explains, “Time To Waste takes influence from 90s Hip Hop and combines this rhythmic feel with a grungey, fuzzy overtone. The initial idea came from writing a bluesy riff in the lowest tuning I could get from my baritone guitar. From there, the vibe was so strong that the rest of the song essentially wrote itself.”
