GEWALT Premiere 'Trans' Single And Video

Off the newly released 'Monika In Scherben' single, the video features notable appearances from the members of Kreator, The Black Angels, Naked Lunch, White Hills among others.

With this single release and almost 2 years after the release of their debut album "Paradies," the Berlin/Vienna quartet consisting of 808, Helen Henfling, Jasmin Rilke, and Patrick Wagner announces their second studio album ‘Doppeldenk’. Starting with the new single, Gewalt continue exploring the topic of duality and dualism in the modern society.

"We thought Orwell wanted to warn us writing 1984 but it turned out that society took it as a blueprint.” – explains Patrick. “We grow up in a paradox now - where war is peace and where we have to gender perfectly and have to know what a cuckold is at the same time.” Diving deep into the human soul captured in a dysfunctional environment Gewalt present prelude to their upcoming LP. Both songs, in their distinctiveness, are undoubtedly the most digestible offerings Gewalt has presented so far. While "Monika in Scherben" tackles a violent shoegaze idea and creates a "soul-tearing epic," the band has successfully crafted a post-punk, industrial, rock 'n' roll gem with "Trans."

Gewalt are happy to present the newest video for the B-side of their vinyl release. Commenting on the newly released video the band states:

"With this video and song, Gewalt aims to empower people of all gender identities to be who they want to be and to be true to who they are.

When we wrote the song and developed the video concept, we realized that merely showcasing the band or incorporating artistic footage wouldn't suffice. Instead, we felt the need to unite people behind this idea. We reached out to our musical friends, including Kreator, White Hills, Black Angels, Dagobert, Muff Potter, Naked Lunch, King Kaja, Christin Nichols, and many more, as well as some supporters from the LGBTQ scene. Each of them contributed their unique energy and perspective to support Gewalt and the idea of providing overall support for transgender individuals. We take great pride in this concept, the collaborative effort, and the final outcome of the video. We hope that everyone will take the time to watch, reflect on its message, and share the idea.

The way the world is currently treating transgender people is a bottomless scandal."
