Berlin-based power trio PABST are pleased to announce that their forthcoming new live album 1, 2, 3, Go! will be released on 12th May 2023 via Alcopop! Records / Ketchup Tracks.

When a band earns the reputation of being one of the most exciting live acts in Germany, they just have to be pressed on vinyl at some point. After more than 200 concerts since their foundation in 2016, PABST now bring their wall of death sound into your living room with the release of their first live album, 1, 2, 3, Go!

After the band’s tour dates had been postponed several times over the course of the pandemic, the power trio virtually exploded back onto the stage in September 2022, and with them the packed Lido venue in their hometown of Berlin. Finally playing concerts again, finally doing what a rock band actually has to do, this thrilling live experience is now available in the form of 9 songs pressed on pink vinyl, and also as an one-hour live video.

As a taste of the record the band have revealed the live video for their track ‘Skinwalker’ from the Lido performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCHkZ8Z0tMw

Commenting on the record, Alcopop! Records label boss Jack Clothier says: “YES! YES! YES! Incoming from Berlin, please welcome the incredible PABST to Alcopop! THEY ARE AMAZING, and we're delighted to be releasing their live album '1, 2, 3, Go!' in May! ”

“With a recent
Top 20 charting German album, love from the inimitable Daniel P Carter at BBC R1 and LOADS of tours across Europe with the likes of Billy Talent, Bob Mould and our very own snake eyes and Beach Riot, this band ARE SO MUCH FUN!”

“They're coming over to the UK for TGE and hopefully some more shows around then, and I do hope you'll all fall in love with each other. PABST FOR LIFE ”

The material on 1, 2, 3, Go! represents a condensed cross-section of PABST's previous releases. Of course, the anticapitalista-siempre-hymn ‘Shake The Disease’ had to be included, as well as a rousing cover of Sixpence None The Richer classic ‘Kiss Me’, which is just beginning for an out of tune singalong with a tin in hand.

Deeper cuts like ‘Never Again’, or very early tracks ‘Skinwalker’ and ‘Accelerate’ also get their space, revealing their full potential live—it quickly becomes apparent that the trio have played their fingers bloody and screamed their voices hoarse on countless shows over the years.

The title track from their previous album, ‘Crushed’, is a stand out moment, featuring a second vocal from Oyèmi Noize—singer with JAGUWAR and voice of the Berlin culture collective DECOLONOIZE—giving this rallying cry against the powerless feeling of being crushed by the weight of the world even more urgency.

The three Berliners’ antics are no longer solely confined to the German-speaking corner of the music industry—last year they embarked on a support tour with Billy Talent across Central Europe and played the big stages of Sziget Festival in Budapest (HUN) and Madcool Festival in Madrid (ES).

After two self-released albums Deuce Ex Machina (2020) and Crushed by the Weight of the World (2022), for the first time the band now have international label support for 1, 2, 3, Go! joining Oxford label Alcopop! Records’ bustling roster alongside DZ DEATHRAYS, The Subways, ART BRUT, Pulled Apart By Horses and more.

Even better than listening to PABST on record, of course, is to experience all the noise live. Opportunities to do so can be found at this year's The Great Escape Festival (UK), the renowned Rock am Ring Festival (GER) or on their very own 1, 2, 3, Go! Headline Tour taking place in fall and winter 2023 (see below for listings).
