In keeping with the rich explosive underground Metal scene in Ireland, Cork natives, Following The Signs present their first slice of music with single/video for ‘This Day is Mine’, taken from the bands debut album, ‘Conflictions’, due for release on June 30th.
Describing themselves as ‘Groove Metal’ fused with a cacophony of blistering Metalcore breakdowns, and riffs that draw from the likes of Korn, Motionless in White, Black Sabbath, to Lamb of God, Slipknot and Deftones.
Speaking of the new single, the bands says, “The album starts with this track because we thought that would be a great idea to start with a song that sounds really like us. This day is mine has groovy and punchy riffs, while the vocals are really catchy. This is all what we tried to make that album from. If you liked This day is mine, you should give a try to the whole album then.”
Featuring twelve tracks, ‘Conflictions’ will be released independently on June 30th and will feature three more video/singles in the coming months. “We wanted to really show our diversity from anything we had done before and bring a new era of the band to life and worked hard to do that” says the band.
‘Conflictions’ is full of a modern groove and metalcore combined with all of us finding our inspiration from our influences individually and bringing it all together to create our own sound.
From start to finish we aimed to catch people's attention right off the bat, whether it was the first notes played on the guitars, or the velocity of the vocals accompanying. We definitely aimed for a darker theme lyrically, talking across a range of emotions and thoughts people could really get behind while the instruments set the vibe for everything to fall into place.
