Folkestone cosmic rock quartet, Yesterday's Flowers, release new single ‘Ride It Out’ – as premiered by BBC Music Introducing

FOR FANS OF: ANGEL OLSEN, JESSICA PRATT, ALLAH LAS, LA LUZ, MAZZY STAR, UNLOVED

"Yesterday's Flowers are always making songs that just sound like timeless classics: what a band" – Abbie McCarthy, BBC Music Introducing

"The tiny stage of Tom Thumb Theatre could barely contain the width and breadth of talent coming from those four…a sensational performance, led by Lucy's captivating voice. Mark our words when we say to watch Yesterday's Flowers." – Compass Music

‘Ride It Out’, the new single from Yesterday’s Flowers is out now, ahead of the band’s anticipated debut hometown show at Folkestone’s Quarterhouse venue.

Recorded and produced by Charles Creese at Magpie Studios Kent and mastered by Andy Walter at Abbey Road Studios, the track is the third release from the band, following their debut single ‘It’s Been a Long Time’ back in May this year.

A dreamy, hypnotic number that builds up to a cathartic crescendo, vocalist and lyricist Lucy says it was written 'during one of those wistful, reflective kinda moods where, when all is said and done, you remember that everything ebbs and flows. Life goes on; you’ll be ok.'

I’ll be fine, I’ll wait it out.

Realign, just ride it out.

Yesterday’s Flowers bio

Yesterday’s Flowers are a Folkestone quartet playing sun-soaked, cosmic guitar rock. Expect chords as old as time, swelling organ, shimmering reverb, and vocals that expertly dance between the ethereal and the primal – all served on a mesmerising and solid rhythm section.

Since releasing their first three singles in 2023 (recorded and produced by Charles Creese at Magpie Studios Kent and mastered by Andy Walter at Abbey Road Studios), the band gained early radio support from Abbie McCarthy at BBC Music Introducing and played their first ‘unofficial’ gig live on air for Academy FM Folkestone, followed by a sold-out show at Margate’s Tom Thumb Theatre in support of Lo Barnes.

Witnessing that first gig, international music consultancy Compass Music wrote: "The tiny stage of Tom Thumb Theatre could barely contain the width and breadth of talent coming from those four…a sensational performance, led by Lucy's captivating voice. Mark our words when we say to watch Yesterday's Flowers."

With third single 'Ride It Out' out now – as premiered by BBC Music Introducing – the band are set to see the year out with an anticipated debut hometown show at Folkestone's Quarterhouse venue, followed by a stint in the studio to record new material.
