New single “Eastern Ave” out now
UK/EU tour next month
Includes show at London’s Sebright Arms 30th May

Flasher, the DC duo of Emma Baker and Taylor Mulitz, announce their new EP In My Myth, due out May 5th via Domino. The four-song collection was produced by Owen Wuerker and mixed by Jorge Elbrecht (Sky Ferreira, Japanese Breakfast) and follows the band’s 2022 sophomore LP Love Is Yours.

“In My Myth is a collection of songs written in between tours and between coasts,” states the band. “These songs are about reckoning with our own self-mythologizing, the sinister side of ‘wellness,’ watching relationships shift over time, and not being done yet.”

Today Flasher share the radiant warmth of their new single “Eastern Ave,” which they describe as “a love song to your hometown and those that matter to you most. It’s a nostalgic dive back to those seemingly mundane moments that become markers of falling in love, or finding your people. The video takes a diaristic approach, juxtaposing our two parallel lives in our respective home bases - Emma in DC, Taylor in the Bay Area. It was inspired by watching Swampy’s Diary and countless other vlogs on YouTube.” “Eastern Ave” comes via a video by Mulitz.

Praise for Love Is Yours:
“A refreshingly thorough examination of the culture industry’s favourite four-letter word. Here, we find songs about miscommunication, co-dependence, vertigo, disappointment, existential dread, obsession, toxicity, betrayal, and selfishness. But somehow, the record still feels like a positive take on romance... Love may be an all-consuming, life-destroying thing, but it’s still worth fighting for.” – The Fader

“The tense post-punk that once defined Flasher melts into something closer to pop with a hint of disco.” – Rolling Stone

“Bass and guitar parts… construct a danceable framework over which they layer hooks that knock the wind out of you. Every element feels colorful and slightly out of focus, like the joyous artwork of the album itself.” - MTV

“Mulitz and Baker’s oh-so-smooth vocal arrangements come to the front and are a big highlight, providing a gauziness that pairs well with their sawtooth guitar tones and clamorous background ambiance.” - Pitchfork

“Slicing through darkness with surges of light is what the band does.” – Under The Radar

“Flasher’s music may no longer be defined by raw angst, but the warmth, directness, and vulnerability that permeate Love Is Yours make it no less thrilling.” – Our Culture

“Domestic arguments can be strenuous, but Flasher also highlight the sweet side of verbal jousting with your beloved in this delightful new jam.”  Beats Per Minute
