FEVERLAND was written around 2013 by Nick Shane, frontman of Dundee renowned Mod group THE NSA after the release of their debut album TV & SUNSHINE. It was written as part of a second album for THE NSA, but was put on extensive hold when the band split up.
Over ten years later, ex-frontman Nick Shane is remastering and re-imagining the album for the remainder of 2024 and will be releasing four singles from the record. FEVERLAND (13 Sept 24), LONG BROWN HAIR (25 Oct 24), THE GIRL WITH THE FREAKY GUN (6 Dec 24) & WILD SIDE ZOO (17 Jan 25) will be released before the full album (+Deluxe Edition) comes out on 28th February 2025.
The first single, FEVERLAND was written about how Nick Shane felt “trapped in a lonesome derelict town, surrounded by acid casualties and no-hopers”. It’s bouncy, yet bluesy rhythm captures Shane’s influences from 60s/70s and 90s music, with poetic lyrics detailing desperation and civic emotional fatigue.
