“Stripping the paint from the walls and the grass from the ground, Fat Dog once again re-affirmed why they are one of the most seismic live experiences in UK music right now” Clash
“They were worth the wait - more than living up to the hype” Evening Standard
“Fat Dog thrives amongst some kind of chaos” SPIN
“They’re epic, raucous and ready for a mainstage slot” The Observer
“Their mix of electronica and punk is an adrenaline-pumping experience: one that makes you feel like a teenager experiencing the bedlam of the moshpit for the first time. They possess all the promise, charisma and youthful abandon that new bands are supposed to have” NME
“A chaotic take on punk that made you think of a clown car driven by anarchists… Excellent” The Times 4*
“One of the most highly anticipated debuts of the year” DIY
“[It’s] giving Nine Inch Nails have gone to a deep trance rave” Clara Amfo, Radio 1
"Fat Dog have a penchant for the grandiose. ‘All the Same’ is propelled by a menacing techno rhythm in the drums and bass, but it’s at its best when that beat bursts open to reveal orchestral swells, industrial electronics, and ‘eagle noises’” The FADER
“South London’s Fat Dog have already become legendary exponents of the sublime and ridiculous, ripping up any preconceived notion of cool and righteously wiping their arses with it.” So Young
“It’s not just chaos they deal in, they deal in the ability to turn your world upside down, to completely reprogram your mind, change the face of reality as you know it. New music that impacts, that leaves an impression on you” Jack Saunders, Radio 1
“Some of the most exciting, thrilling, weird dark wave/post-punk stuff I’ve heard in a long time, maybe even years” The Needle Drop
“This is one of the records I’ve been eagerly awaiting, particularly having stalked this band around SXSW” SteveLamacq, 6 Music
“Fat Dog creates a space for euphoria and discomfort, humour and unease” FLOOD
“They do know how to put on a show: their crowd is probably the most raucous one I’ve seen all weekend” The Guardian
“You NEED to see this band… pure chaos” Matt Wilkinson, Apple 1

Fresh from their four delirious shows at Glastonbury last month, Fat Dog release new single “Wither” from their forthcoming debut album WOOF. (due Sept 6th). Kicking things off with a propulsive drum roll, “Wither” captures the intoxicating energy of the band’s live show as frontman Joe Love builds up to a manic crescendo: “You better wither baby before you die / The whole team withers / The whole team dies.”

The video directed by Ryan Vautier and inspired by 90s video games is knowingly awash with unnecessary somersaults and wonky graphics. With a nod to Chris Hughes (keys/synth) and Morgan Wallace’s (sax/keys) onstage dance to “Wither”, the gameplay sees the five-piece traverse different worlds meeting bone dealers and singing skulls to come together and fight the final boss Gerald. Will the whole team survive?

Vautier said of the video direction:“I wanted it to feel like a real PS1 or 2 game that I would have played when I was a kid – Fat Dog’s music has the chaotic energy me and my brother had, smashing down soft drinks and arguing over who got the top split screen.”

Alongside the announcement, Fat Dog have confirmed several new instore dates including a second show at London’s Rough Trade East.

One of the most exciting breakthrough bands of the past few years, conjurers of the sort of frenzied and wild live shows not seen in the capital for years, Fat Dog are now the creators of WOOF., a brilliant and mind-bending record.

The sound Fat Dog make is screaming-into-a-pillow music says Love. “I wanted to make something ridiculous because I was so bored,” he declares. It’s a thrilling blend of electro-punk, rock’n’roll snarling, techno soundscapes, industrial-pop and rave euphoria, music for letting go to. Produced by Joe Love, James Ford and Jimmy Robertson, WOOF. passes by in a flash. Influences include Bicep, I.R.O.K., Kamasi Washington and the Russian experimental EDM group Little Big.

The album is a visit into the mind of Joe Love - be thankful you have only been granted a temporary pass. “Music is so vanilla,” says Love. “I don’t like sanitised music. Even this album is sanitised compared to what’s in my head. I thought it would sound more fucked up.”

After a summer of festivals including Latitude, Truck, Lowlands and Pukklepop, Fat Dog will return to the US for their second run in October before their UK wide tour in November including London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town.
