For Fans of: Massive Attack, Portishead, Imogen Heap, How to Destroy Angels, Aurora

Freyja Elsy, a classically trained musician and self-taught electro-pop producer hailing from Cardiff, has been independently releasing singles for the past three years and has introduced her live performances during 2023. 'Modern Artifice' builds upon her previous work, enhancing the depth and introspection while pushing the boundaries of music production and experimentation.

Freyja Elsy's EP delves into a profound exploration of various themes, from critiquing societal pressures and the commodification of youth in 'Sad Girls' to capturing the monotony and disillusionment of a repetitive existence in single 'Over It' (out Nov 17th). 'Limerence' vividly portrays the fear of revealing one's past traumas in a new relationship, juxtaposing passionate vocals with a blend of acoustic and electronic elements. Finally, 'Salem' draws inspiration from 'The Crucible', delving into themes of gender inequality, generational trauma, and female rage, building to an intense crescendo with wailing guitars. Each track presents a unique facet of Freyja Elsy's musical artistry, combining depth and emotion with innovative soundscapes.

Freyja Elsy has received acclaim from BBC (6Music/Radio Wales), Freshonthenet, and international blogs and radio, earning her the reputation of an exceptionally accomplished musician and producer. Her debut single, 'Lungs,' left critics and listeners in awe, described by Adam Walton from BBC Radio Wales as "off-the-scale evocative."
