EU TOUR WITH ENTER SHIKARI IN FEBRUARY

BLACKOUT PROBLEMShave released their brand new single‘GLOFS’featuring searing guest vocals fromEnter ShikarifrontmanRou Reynolds. The song is taken from the forthcoming BLACKOUT PROBLEMS albumRIOTout February 23rdvia Sony Music.

‘GLOFS’, an abbreviation for Glacial Lake Outburst Floods, is a song which looks back on the flood disaster of the Ahr Valley in Germany, which killed hundreds and affected thousands in 2021.

Through the powerful lyricism it reconstructs images of natural forces exacerbated by climate change and the consequences on humans. Washed-out tremolo guitars meet dark pop beats in a staggering post-hardcore track, where Rou Reynolds adds a biting spoken word touch to the powerful single.

The new single is not the first time BLACKOUT PROBLEMS and Enter Shikari have crossed paths, the German rock band played in support Enter Shikari at their UK shows earlier this year, and the bands will hit the road together across Europe in February 2024.

Having Rou Reynolds as a feature guest on ‘GLOFS’ is an absolute highlight for BLACKOUT PROBLEMS as frontman Mario Radetzky explains,“At first, I didn't believe that this idea could turn into reality. Then suddenly, two or three months after the request, I had a WhatsApp from Rou Reynolds with a Dropbox link. We took his first draft straight away because it was so magical and just fits perfectly! It's a small lifelong dream that’s coming true for us.”

Rou Reynolds adds,“I was honoured to have been asked to jump on this song by my friends BLACKOUT PROBLEMS. It’s such an excellently sculpted track and I can’t wait to perform it with them on our tour together in Europe next year!”

The accompanyingmusic videoshows the band and Reynolds performing together in a club, filmed in the Black Box at Fat Cat Munich."For the first time in our band history, we invited fans for a shoot,”explains Radetzky.“Around 75 of them were present. Of course, they had no clue that Rou Reynolds would be there for the shoot as well. So the surprise was huge and everyone was incredibly happy."

‘GLOFS’ follows the recent release of lead single ‘PUZZLE’, also taken from the forthcoming albumRIOT. Fans with an eye for details will recognise a recurring element in the ‘GLOFS’ video that could already be spotted in the video for ‘PUZZLE’: a telephone booth.

Radetzky continues,"Interpersonal communication is a central theme on our album RIOT. But of course, the phone booth itself offers a lot more scope for interpretation – but we don’t want to reveal too much just yet."

RIOTwill be released on February 23rd, 2024, digitally, on CD, vinyl, in a special hardcover book and in various bundlesvia Hansa / SME Germany GmbH / Sony Music.
