Eidola release Mend - their second full-length album in less than a year and the conclusion of the story they began with the Spring 2024 release of Eviscerate - on 17th January 2025 via Blue Swan Records/Rise Records.

Today, the band offers a preview of the 13-song collection with the release of “The Faustian Spirit” and an accompanying performance video.

“’The Faustian Spirit’ is a testament to the journey we’ve been on and pulls from a decade of evolution,” reflects Andrew Michael Wells, who also serves as Dance Gavin Dance’s clean vocalist. “It’s the culmination of six albums, woven together with passion and energy. With Mend, we’re not holding back; we’re pushing the boundaries of what this band has always been about. Coming off of Eviscerate, Mend feels like the other side of the same coin – a fierce, powerful continuation of the themes that shape our work. If this track is just the beginning, we’re ready to take listeners to places they’ve never been with us before.”

While Eviscerate delved into darker themes of loss, grief, and despair, Mend explores redemption and healing against a more melodic and uplifting musical canvas. This dynamic duality, representing both light and dark, speaks to the band’s exploration of the human condition in all of its complexity. Produced by Stephan Hawkes (Chelsea Grin, American Me) and recorded in North Hollywood, Calif., the album promises a fresh evolution for the Salt Lake City-based band.

Mend pre-orders, including multiple limited-edition vinyl variants and merch bundles, are available now: https://eidola.lnk.to/Mend.

EIdola is Andrew Michael Wells (vocals), Sergio Medina (guitar), Matthew Dommer (vocals/guitar), Matthew Hansen (drums), Skylar Caporicci (guitar), and Reese Ortenberg (bass). The progressive post-hardcore band, formed in 2011 Salt Lake City, are known for their complex compositions, thought-provoking lyrics, and dynamic live performances. On Eviscerate, their most recent album, Punk News said “What’s unusual about Eidola is their ability to wield melody with such obvious talent, but to twin it with heaviness and complexity…,” Metal Injection noted the band’s knack for “technical magic and catchy ass melodies,” and Under The Radar said the new collection “is undoubtedly some of their best work.” Eidola have released five full-length albums: Eviscerate (2024), The Architect (2021), To Speak, To Listen (2017), Degeneraterra (2015), and The Great Glass Elephant (2012).
