As the closing credits roll on a summer that simmered with possibility and flickered with hope, Brighton's nice guys who finish last, Nature TV play through the pain of an intense romance left behind on the beach on latest release, Summer In The City. Happy to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all, the forensic song-builders and technicians of the gentle human heart dissolve any sense of twenty-something bravado in shimmering waters of empathy with the delicate, soulful opus raised from this week's Mid Flight EP.

Released with prolific tastemaker label, Heist or Hit on Fri 29 September, the five-track collection of fresh music comes ahead of an 11-Date UK Tour, opening at Edge Of The Wedge, Portsmouth on Tue 3 October and concluding at Colours, Shoreditch on Fri 27 October.

Intensely felt, blink-and-you'll-miss-it infatuation and moments only ever borrowed have loomed large across Nature TV's honeyed songwriting to date. Yet Summer In The City's intimate and penetrating, butterfly-in-stomach relay of fluttering helplessly into the flame of a fast-burning love arrives with head-tilting, dewy-eyed tenderness that sees both parties, once lovers and now strangers, contentedly off into the sunset.

Singer and songwriter, Guy Bangham says: "This one is about fleeting romances, they can always be the hardest ones to either end or lose. Feelings build up quickly even if you know there is a time limit on it and one wants a good thing to end and, if it ends because of things out of your control, that can be really hard to take. Try and keep it sweet when it does end, there will be lots of characters in our lives and some get written out at the end of the season."

The road to the Mid Flight EP began with the crashing wave of melancholic yacht-rock lost classic, Illusions, during the balmy late-spring and offered a graphic picture of the crash scene where atmospheric 80's British alternative indie-pop, such as The Blue Nile and The Smiths, had collided with the sun-setting sounds of the US soul-pop boom of the same decade. Follow up single, Words followed the blueprint with Bangham and the band sagely offering advice on when tongues are best held, while Frida arrived in August to begin the post-holiday wind down, dialling up the emotions while amping up the sense of cool reflection.

Having already toured the UK with Chappaqua Wrestling earlier this year and enjoying the adventure of international travel to play the NXNE Festival in Toronto, Canada, Nature TV finally hit the road together for their own headline dates next month. Nature TV, Bangham, Josh Erişkin (bass), Jimmy Hunt (lead guitar, backing vocals) and Zal Jones (drums) while away creative hours in their own rehearsal space and studio on the Sussex coast, yet decamped to Wales’ Bannau Brycheiniog National Park to complete the songs on the Mid Flight EP.  Swapping the cosmopolitan coast to stay in a 500-year-old farmhouse, the results of that purposely intense period of collaboration builds on a catalogue that stretches back to their debut EP ‘proper’, Emotion Sickness in 2019. The band moved rapidly on from that benchmark to add a further three EPs – Lady Luck, Heartbreak Skyline and Nightshift.

Using time on the road as well as on record to win the affections of music lovers in every corner of the country they've blessed with their presence, appearances at ILMC, The Great Escape, Wild Paths and NXNE festivals as well as picking up tour support duties with PINS, Wyldest, CVC, VANT, Trudy and The Romance and Swimming Tapes have swelled their growing family. Following a full UK tour with Liverpool's Trudy and The Romance. Their last headline tour in October 2022 found them playing to packed houses from Edinburgh to London.
