London-based punks DREAM NAILS are back with a euphoric break-up song in the form of ‘CONTROL,’ working with award-winning producer Adrian Bushby and returning with a revitalised, power trio line-up. The band’s latest offering (out now via Marshall Records) sees the three-piece galvanised and more vital than ever, with bass player Mimi Jasson stepping forward as the band’s new vocalist. Accompanying the new single, the band will also play an intimate London show at The Grace on Tuesday, 8th October.

“As Dream Nails enters its third phase as a classic power trio, it’s the perfect time to share ‘Control’ with the world,” remarks drummer Lucy Katz. “Our bassist, Mimi, is now on lead vocals while continuing to bass-slay. Seeing her take vocals in her stride is genuinely inspiring and is pushing our musicianship further than we ever thought we could go. We’ve found a new energy.”
“Our new track is about understanding why people might stay in an unhealthy relationship for too long,” adds Jasson. “The lyrics reflect ‘there’s good in bad and bad in the good’. Things are never simple; we wanted that nuance to come across.”
Guitarist Anya Pearson adds, “‘Control’ is also about stepping into your power, finding the courage to leave someone trying to control you and mess with your head. It’s vulnerable, it’s brave, and it’s euphoric.”
“We had the pleasure of recording ‘Control’ at the Marshall Studio with producer Adrian Bushby, who’s recorded with some of our heroes like the Foo Fighters and Spice Girls.” Jasson recalls excitedly, “We asked him to regale us with stories from the golden era recording ‘Wannabe’ and ‘Who Do You Think You Are’, and then we channelled a bit of that spice into the track.”
Sharing about future works, Katz adds, “We’re dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s on our third LP right now and will be heading back to the studio shortly to lay our baby down.”

MORE ON DREAM NAILS
The (r)evolution of punk collective Dream Nails continues. Described by Kerrang! as “one of the most exciting bands in British punk”, the London trio of Lucy, Mimi and Anya have burst forth from their DIY roots to sign with Marshall Records. The band continue to evolve and transcend boundaries, bringing forward a reborn image and heavier sound we can all find ourselves in. Nuance is back in - and what Dream Nails seeks out is greater than idealistic, punchy anthems. Instead, they want their music to inspire and bring hope, all while exploring empathy and the darker places of the psyche. For fans of Bikini Kill, Amyl and the Sniffers and label mates Nova Twins, Dream Nails are deep thinkers, curious observers, and relentless creators of bangers for the dance floor and moshpit. “Our music is galvanising as well as playful - a responsibility we don’t take lightly,” Lucy says. Community is at the heart of the band, with all-ages gigs and workshops in youth clubs across the UK providing as much joy as their raucous live shows and festival appearances.
