DONZII (post-punk, goth) invoking a spellbinding tour from Miami to LA
Emerging from subtropical Miami and named after an Italian speedboat company, DONZII (pronounced dawn-ZEE) exists in a dystopian dream, experienced through an all-knowing, all-seeing gaze cast upon discordant politics, unravelling environments, deconstruction of sexual conventions, and the ever present threat of an alien apocalypse. Led by the inimitable singer, artist and choreographer Jenna Balfe, post-punk outfit DONZII are trekking across the US for a string of tour dates that will see the bedevilled collective revel in the waning light of fall.
DONZII was started by vocalist Jenna Balfe and musician Dennis Fuller. Their post-punk vision is a unity of go-hard industrial bangers, darkly ambient balladry, and new takes on the funk traditions of No Wave. They have created a Donzii Universe, as they call it weaving together a stream of narratives through performance art and lyricism.
Donzii is: Jenna Balfe (vocals), Danny Heinze (guitar), Dennis Fuller (bass, drums), Violeta De La Guardia (keys).
