Rubi Ate The Fig are an American Rock Band, who’s music is infused with a Middle-Eastern Colour and groove. Featuring Master musicians, Rubi Ate The Fig tell the story of the Desert - with mystical lyrics and exotic harmonies, they aim to transport the listener to another world.

Meet the band :
Sharoón Eliashar - Compositions, Vocals, Guitar, Production

Born in Jerusalem, raised in the low desert of California; Sharoón has studied Middle-Eastern music, classical composition, and ethno-musicology.

Sharoón’s incorporates Middle-Eastern rhythms and moods into her Western songwriting. Sharoón has spent much of her time with the Bedouins of the Sinai Desert, who became a profound source of inspiration for her music and evocative lyrics.

Rick mouser - recording engineer, Guitar, Production
Deemed the guru of Indie Rock, Rich Mouser has recorded countless bands - His specialty is certainly in the guitar-driven rock genre.

He has helped cultivate the sound of emerging Indie bands and has polished established acts inside and outside of the USA.

He’s a respected progressive rock engineer / mixer and has worked with ‘Transatlantic’, ‘Spock’s Beard’, ‘Dream Theatre’, and more.

Bands outside of the country have travelled to the States to have the opportunity to work with Mouser as a producer. Within the last few years, Rick has imported Irish talent (Jaded Sun, Paul Toal, and Lancelot), produced their albums, and helped to establish their sound.

Marc Mann - Guitar, keyboard, vocals, production, orchestration
Marc Mann is a uniquely creative guitar player who has performed with bands and artists such as ‘Oingo Boingo’, Jeff Lynne’s ‘Electric Light Orchestra’ and was an integral part of the "Concert for George" (Memorial for George Harrison).

Marc has performed, arranged, and produced, 54 albums. He is a long time collaborator with Danny Elfman and has worked on ‘Men In Black’, ‘Mars Attacks!’ ‘Sleepy Hollow’ and more.

Ali Paris - Qanun
Ali Paris captivates audiences worldwide with his unique fusion of Middle-Eastern and western music styles; highlighted by both technical virtuosity and emotional expression. Ali plays the Kanun - a rare middle-eastern 76-string zither that dates back to the 14th century.

Polly Tapia Ferber - Dumbeq, Frame Drum, riqQ (tambourine)
Percussionist Polly Tapia Ferber is a music educator, performer, and recording artist who specialises in hand percussion from the Middle East, Turkey, North Africa, the Balkans, and Spanish Andalucia. She is noted for her melodic style of playing on Darabukah (Middle-Eastern drum), frame drum, and riqq (Middle-Eastern tambourine).

Danny Montgomery - Drums
Danny is a San Francisco native, who lives and works for most of the year in Europe. He studied orchestral percussion and composition at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and has recorded and performed with Percy Sledge, Ray Charles, Billy Paul, Mose Allison, Taj Mahal, Jack Sheldon, Johnette Napolitano and Jerry Harrison.

Miles Jay - bass, Turkish saz, cello
Miles’ musical tastes are wide – he professes to wear different hats and love new challenges. He has lived and worked around the world for most of his professional life, and if he had to pick one theme that unites his experience as a bassist, composer and producer, it would be in re-imagining the roles and relationships of traditional instruments with one another, mainly from the Mediterranean, Middle East and East Africa.
