Dictator Ship to release album “Electric Jihad” on 29 September 2023 via The Sign Records
Dictator Ship is back! In 2020, the band launched their excellent debut album ”Your Favorites”, which received praise from fans and media alike, being called ”An astounding live-in-studio debut” by UK’s Classic Rock Magazine. Now the Swedish four piece is back, ready to release their second studio album ”Electric Jihad” in September 2023. Blending energetic and raw rock’n'roll with exquisite multi-layered vocal harmonies and melodies inspired by 60’s soul and doo-wop, the band has carved out their very own niche in the rock landscape, perfectly displayed throughout the whole album. In many ways, the album is the natural progression of their debut.
The band explains:
This is a step up from our first album in every single way. We knew from the start that we wanted more harmonies in the vocals and more structure in the guitars than we had on “Your Favorites” and we are very satisfied with the end result. It’s also a reflection of how we as a group feel about the society we live in. The true frustration that a capitalist pig power structure plants in you may not bring out the best solutions to the problem, but it’s true and honest and should be taken seriously either way.
The album ”Electric Jihad” was produced by Stefan Brändström (Gatuplan, Märvel, Side Effects, Satan takes a holiday, The Holy Ghost) and the band in The Dustward Studio, Stockholm. Stefan also mixed and mastered the record. As with their debut album, Dictator Ship has once again teamed up with The Sign Records, who will release the album world wide on black vinyl, and all streaming services on the 29th of September 2023.

Biography:
Dictator Ship! A frenetic rock'n'roll quartet channeling their inner obsession of 60’s soul and doo-wop, inspired by early giants such as Sam & Dave, Sly & The Family Stone, Jackie Wilson and The Platters. Their live act is often described as a combination of the raging sound of The Sonics, the discontent attitude of MC5 and the pure stamina of Elvis Presley in Las Vegas.

Essential. 9/10”. In 2021, Dictator Ship released two singles that will be followed by their second album ”Electric Jihad” in September 2023, along with three more singles.
