Debut Album Never Let This Go Out Now

Derry, Northern Ireland melodic punk trio PARKER are pleased to reveal the official video for their new single ‘Eleanor’ released 28th August 2024.

Produced by Caolán Austin and engineered by Rocky O’Reilly, the single was recorded at Start Together Studios, mixed by Caolán Austin, and mastered by Matt Colton.

Musically informed by the mid 90s alt-rock of The Smashing Pumpkins and Failure, the band wanted to use similar grandiose, otherworldly, larger-than-life sonic palettes to reflect how our memories can often feel; over-inflated, all consuming, and a little out of touch with reality.

Commenting on the song, singer and guitarist Dylan Bradley says: “Eleanor, at its core, is a song about nostalgia. It's based on the idea of looking at your past through rose-tinted glasses—not seeing things for what they really are—and how our lives can often take a different direction than we initially planned. Lyrically, it's informed by the life I lived in my early 20s; spending those years out on the road and coming back home to work my day job in a local bar, often filling the gaps in between tours with partying a little too hard and trying to maintain relationships while living a really transient lifestyle.”

Fresh from a run of Irish/UK headline tour dates and an appearance at Stendahl Ireland, the band have also just announced a new run of September/November 2024 UK and EU live dates, with tickets on sale now (see below for listings).

The new track follows on from standalone single ‘Generic Indie Bands’ which was released earlier this year, serving as the first taste of new material since the release of their well-received 2023 debut album, Never Let This Go.

‘Generic Indie Bands’ picked up spins and support at radio from Amy Lamé at BBC 6 Music, Mickey Bradley and Stephen McCauley at BBC Radio Foyle/Ulster, RTE, Amazing Radio, Total Rock, and Midlands Metalheads, plus many more alternative tastemakers and specialist shows.

New single ‘Eleanor’ is released 28th August 2024

More about PARKER:

Displaying a Trojan work ethic and building their fanbase in the time-honoured touring tradition of Proper Rock Bands since their lockdown inception in 2020, PARKER have played relentlessly across Ireland and the UK over the past few years, supporting the likes of New Pagans, WONK UNIT, Cherym, The Last Mile, and Fighting With Wire.

Produced by Cahir O’Doherty (New Pagans, Fighting With Wire, Jetplane Landing) and engineer Allan McGreevy (New Pagans, The Rupture Dogs), the band’s 2023 debut album Never Let This Go was recorded in January 2022 after a period of intensive writing and rehearsing during the pandemic.

A string of weapons-grade singles including ‘Ucluelet’, ‘Never Miss’, ‘Problems’, ‘Superhero’ and ‘Ruin My Life’ marked the band out as a burgeoning new talent and their music received early radio support from Nels Hylton on BBC R1’s Future Alternative, The Sunday Life, Across The Line, BBC Radio Ulster / BBC Radio Foyle, Chord Blossom, and Ireland Live.

The album went on to catch the ears of international alternative tastemakers at Bring The Noise UK, Punktuation Magazine, The Punk Site, Maximum Volume, The AU Review, Chordblossom, Dig With It and Scene Point Blank.
