Fuzz Folk Newcomer’s Debut Album forget what makes it glow Released 14th July 2023

Denver, Colorado based Isadora Eden is pleased to reveal her new single ‘Still’, which is released on 7th April 2023.

The track is the latest to be taken from her forthcoming debut album forget what makes it glow, set for release on 14th July 2023, and follows on from lead single ‘Haunted’ which picked up support from UK tastemakers Noizze, Analogue Trash, Colorising and more.

The official video for the single was filmed by Ty Smith and animated and edited by Megan Roe, lending a surreal feeling to seemingly every day situations—eating a meal, watching tv, playing music—before things become more and more dreamlike and bizarre throughout.

Commenting on the track, Eden says: “I love the way the synth line mimics the lyrics on 'in and back out', and the building, somewhat frantic feel of the bridge amid an otherwise more calm song. It's about enduring love of all kinds (not just romantic); love that you choose to stick with throughout whatever happens. We used to live in a house that was built in the 1890s and shot the video there.”

Combining dark, introspective lyrics with lush vocals and complex multi-layered textures of sound, Isadora Eden is an Easter Sunday-turned-horror movie. Mixing elements of indie rock, shoegaze, and gothic folk, her music boldly blends genres to make what she and Erhard affectionately call ‘fuzz folk’.

A self-described “sad slowcore” addict, Eden lists The Cure, Tomberlin, Elliott Smith, Frightened Rabbit and Soccer Mommy as just some of her many muses.

This is music for walking home alone after a party to; doom scrolling ‘til the sun comes up, and then driving around your abandoned hometown pretending that, this time, you’re actually going to call your high school best friend. This feeling manifests across 11 tracks on Eden’s new LP titled forget what makes it glow, evoking real life horror as it channels not-so-great memories of religion, nostalgia, love and loss.

Recorded, produced and mixed by Corey Coffman (Gleemer, Soft Blue Shimmer, Modern Colour) in Loveland, CO and mastered by Edsel Holden (Hovvdy, Katy Kirby) , the album also features bandmate Sumner Erhard on drums, percussion, and bass.

First making a name for herself in Denver, early tastemakers across the US are now quickly cottoning-on to her sound, leading to support from NPR, Westword, Obscure Sound, Ear To The Ground, Bandwagon Magazine, 303 Magazine (Denver Musicians To Watch 2021), Various Small Flames, The Revue and many more.

Live appearances and further album details TBA over the coming months.
